Hello Short Walkers
Last Monday Sue with help from Alf lead us on a walk around Cheadle. It shows that we do not have to go far to lovely country side and exercise.
Next Monday our walk will be lead by Mick and Arthur. They have provided the following information:
“The walk is about 3.5 miles in length and is mainly gentle up and down hills in the Derbyshire Peaks. There are about 6 stiles and only the first one is awkward. The walk will start from the Market Square in Longnor, see map attached.”
Longnor is located on the B5053 in the Peak District Park. Follow the A521 from Cheadle through, Kingsley Holt and Froghall. Pick up the B5053 at Froghall and continue through Ipstones, cross the A523 at Bottomhouse, Onecote, Warslow and into Longnor. We will park in the Market Square which is easily seen from the B5053 at the cross roads with the Leek Road in the middle of Longnor.
This is as far north as we generally go so remember it will take me time to get there from Cheadle which I will leave at 10.00am after the last group members have left but still hope to be able to start walking by 10.40am.
Have a good week and weekend, be careful in the sun.
