The Almoner Post

This position was created for U3A members who are sick, had an accident or suffered bereavement and need help.

Are you retired or semi-retired?  Do you know what Cheadle U3A has to offer? We are part of the Third Age Trust; a national charity organisation aimed specifically at our age group.  We were founded in 1997 and are now about a thousand strong with over fifty activities you can enjoy:

  • Outdoor activities
  • Indoor Sports
  • Dancing
  • Art groups
  • Craft groups
  • Language Classes
  • Computer Classes
  • Special interest groups such as Poetry, Architecture and Music
  • Social Events

It’s an organisation run by its members, for its members on a totally voluntary basis.  An elected Management Committee runs the administration and the Group Leaders pass on their skills with enthusiasm and commitment.

Is there something that is just what you’re looking for, if there is contact the Group Leader for more information (see the Groups/Activities web page).  Or you may have an interest you would like to share with others, in which case contact the Groups Co-ordinator –  Helen Wainwright

Annual Membership costs £10 and each group session attended costs £1.  The groups meet in and around Cheadle and members can belong to as many groups as they wish.

If you’re interested but would like to chat to someone before joining why not come along to one of our Coffee Mornings, held at the Guildhall on the second Wednesday of every month, except August.

If you’re interest and want to join go to our Membership web page and down load the form.
